After watching the new Apple iPhone commercial called "Family Travel", we immediately thought, "Hey, Apple stole Google's clapping sound from their Nexus One launch video!"

So we pulled up the Google Nexus One video and had a listen.  Sure enough, the exact same clapping sound, right down to the beat and pace of claps.  Check it out, both videos are below.

We are not going to read anything further into this, it may not have been on purpose but there was a definite oversight on the part of the agency who produced this commercial and whoever at Apple that approved it.

Anyway, can you actually "steal" or copy a clapping sound?

By the way, we think Google's video is much more captivating and very well done.  The soundtrack is more dynamic and very well timed to the whole commercial.  When we first saw it, it was so catchy that we had to watch it several times.

With Apple, Google and Microsoft (here is Microsoft's Windows Phone series 7 launch video) all going into a head to head battle in the mobile phone and mobile OS space, we are bound to see some great ads coming from all of them in a 2010/2011 mobile smartphone advertising war.

Here are the commercials, check it out for yourself! Can you hear the same clapping sound?

First Apple's iPhone commercial - Family Travel

and next Google's Nexus One Launch video (which quite obviously came out first)
