
If you are sick of all this attention that the iPad 2 is getting and are not too happy with the current crop of Honeycomb based tablets and yearn to be “different” from the crowd, here’s your chance!
HTC has just announced that its much talked about 7 inch Android tablet, the Flyer would go on sale across Europe, starting today! The tablet is currently available for Pre-order in the UK and comes in two versions. Yes, you guessed it right: The Wifi and Wifi+3G. The Wifi only version gets 16 GB of internal memory, expandable to another 32 GB while the more expensive Wifi+3G version gets 32GB of onboard storage. Of course, it too gets the microSD card slot thereby expanding is total storage capacity to 64 GB with the appropriate SD card.
The Wifi only version is priced at €499 while the Wifi +3G version will set you back by €649. Both the versions will get the Magic Pen accessory that lets users take notes.
As for the specs, let us remind you that the Flyer runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and boasts of a 1.5 GHz processor – making it quite a fast performer. It runs a tablet optimized version of HTC’s SENSE UI as well and boasts full support for Flash 10 and HTML 5 as well – thereby promising a rich browsing experience.
Initially, the Flyer will be available in the following countries: UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Romania.
