It looks we may be about to see the domination of the iPhone 4 ending. Apple’s super phone has managed to consistently lead the smartphones sales pack in multiple countries all over the globe over the course of the past few years. With Android rapidly gaining ground however, Apple’s domination of the smartphone market is under serious threat. However, no single Android device could come close to the phenomenal sales achieved by the iPhone. Until now.

It’s been hardly weeks since Samsung started selling its newest Android powered dual core wonder, the Samsung Galaxy S II. Apparently, Samsung has already received feedback from users regarding the phone’s rather hypersensitive auto brightness settings issue that irked many users. The highly responsive company that Samsung is, has already bought out the first update for the device to fix that issue.

I am sure almost every one of you might have heard of Samsung’s upcoming Android Honeycomb tablets – the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Galaxy Tab 8.9. Well, these two products were told to be arriving sometime in Q2, 2011 but so far have been without a definite launch date.  This has changed today however, if we are to believe a tweet from Samsung Mobile US (which we see no reason not to!), the larger of the tablets, the 10.1 inch variant will go on sale starting June 8, 2011 – that’s less than a month away!

It was just last week that we reported that Samsung’s latest flagship Android handset, the Galaxy S II broke iPhone 4’s South Korean record for the most pre-orders for any handset in that country. It hit a mind boggling 200,000 pre-orders just days after its announcement leaving even the record set by the mighty iPhone 4 behind.

Samsung has been doing exceptionally well these days thanks to its formidable line up of Android and Bada devices. The company, which plans to upstage it's competitors does look intimidating now. With the company scaling new heights when it comes to market share, here’s something symbolic that goes well with its current upsurge.

We always knew the Galaxy S II was going to be a significant launch for Samsung this year. The handset which went for pre-order in South Korea last Monday was expected to break records. But no one expected it to be this big we presume. Just minutes after the pre order page went live; the phone had already registered over 10,000 pre-order requests. By the end of an hour since its availability, over 29,000 phones were booked. By the end of the week, the number went past over 200,000!
