Linkedin, the professional and business social network,  has announced the launch of their Linkedin mobile Blackberry app.  Blackberry is well known to have a high concentration of business users due to the messaging and security features that companies (and their employees) love.  Marrying Blackberry business users and Linkedin's business minded social networking should be a perfect match. We can't believe it has taken this long for them to focus on the Blackberry platform.

Here are the highlights of the new Linkedin Blackberry App:

  • Network Updates. View and share updates with your network.
  • Search. Search across over 60 million global professionals, and get the answer back in seconds.
  • Connections. LinkedIn is your address book in the cloud.  Get quick access to any of your connections to get their up-to-date profile information, and the ability to send them a message immediately.
  • Invitations. Why wait to get back to your desk? Accept outstanding invitations immediately.
  • Messages. Messaging is one of the reasons that BlackBerry owners love their devices, and we’ve worked hard to integrate your LinkedIn Inbox.
  • Reconnect. You can’t leverage your network if you don’t build it.  Now you can build your network from anywhere.
  • Tight integration with Blackberry native OS features like Contacts, Messages and Calendar

The app is only available for direct download from Linkedin at the moment. They aim to have it in the Blackberry App World Store in the future.

Linkedin is available for Blackberry devices with OS v4.3 or higher.
