For those of us who live an on-the-go lifestyle (and let’s be frank: who doesn’t these days?), it can sometimes be a hassle to move your files from one place to another. For iPhone users, it can be a particular burden – Apple’s Safari web browser doesn’t let you save files, and there isn’t any built-in solution for storing or syncing files. The GoAruna Files App for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad changes all of that, giving users the power to upload and download files directly from their iPhone, or even to download and store files from the Web. All in all, it’s one of the best ways to sync and store files on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, and the feature list is pretty impressive.

GoAruna is a filesharing service that you can use on your computer, your iPhone or even your Android device to quickly gain access to files you’ve stored to the GoAruna network, or even files that others have left for you. From the “Transfers” screen (shown here), you can quickly see how many ways you can use GoAruna as a file manager to transfer your files. The “Inbox URL” will display your personalized GoAruna URL, which functions like a dropbox, allowing you or other users to drop files into your GoAruna account through a super-simple web interface. If email is more your speed, you can enable and use the “Upload by Email” option, which generates a customized email address which will store any attachments you (or your friends) send to it into your GoAruna account. If you add it to your various devices, you can quickly store any data you want online just by shooting off an email.

The “URL Download” and “Browse for Download” features are especially powerful on the GoAruna Files iPhone app. You can either point GoAruna toward a URL you already know to directly download that file onto your iPhone, or you can use a built-in web browser to browse around until you find the file you’re looking for. The lack of built-in downloading for the iPhone has always been one of users’ biggest complaints about the phone – but GoAruna Files changes that completely, letting you download files and even store them to your GoAruna Inbox with ease.

Possibly coolest of all, the GoAruna app can actually render many file types directly, including images and several text formats (including Microsoft Word!). That means that you can download a Word document from your Inbox and view it on your iPhone without ever having to download more than a single (free!) piece of software.

If you have a camera, you can even capture images and store them directly to your GoAruna inbox in one simple step using the “Capture and Upload” feature. The same goes for text – you can enter text into a text file and upload it to your GoAruna Inbox online without ever leaving the app. There’s even a built-in address book so that you can network with other GoAruna users for quick and easy file-sharing.

One particularly good use for the GoAruna Files app is for sharing files between friends and coworkers while you’re on the move. Since others can leave files in your Inbox for you, and since files can be sent to your Inbox via email, it's easier than ever before for to get access to files while you're away from your home or desk.

All in all, the GoAruna Files app is one of those must-have apps that nearly everyone can find a use for. With so many people using so many different PC’s, mobile devices, and so on, having one centralized area in the cloud where you can store your files and share them with others is invaluable, and GoAruna Files is just the tool to do it. The interface is sleek (you can choose your theme if you don’t like the default color scheme), and simple and the transfer file functions are smooth and reliable.
