Just in time for Halloween, we have a spooky special about the paranormal, ghosts and goblins (and of course social networking!)

The majority of people do believe that there are things that cannot be explained away with simple logic of science. There are those in society that believe that there is the existence of spirits, other worldly entities or whatever and want to learn more about them. There are also those who are so into such events that social networking has become an avenue where this niche of people can connect with one another and share their stories and experiences with others who will believe what they have experienced is real.

This is an ideal medium for those who are misunderstood or laughed at for their beliefs in such matters, in these social network atmospheres they can freely exchange experiences and ideas with others from around the world that won't laugh at them or want to put them in a straight jacket because they think they've lost their "marbles."

MyPara Paranormal Social Network is a site that is filled with a variety of areas that every paranormal enthusiast would delight in. The variety of categories are Hauntings, EVPs, Ghosts, UFOs, Spirit Photography and Apparitions.  Some of the organized groups featured within the network are; Do Yourself Equipment, Ghost Cams, Ghost Lab and a variety of other specialized groups. When visiting this site, you're surprised at just how many people consider themselves "ghost hunters".

Supernatural Connections is a site more on the line of your typical social networks with the usual features of groups, events, photos, videos, blogs, polls, forums, etc. The only thing that makes it any different than any other site is that it's geared towards those who believe in the paranormal.

P.R.O.U.D. or Paranormal Researchers Out and United in Diversity (now that's a mouthful), claims to be,a site that promotes interaction and open communication among paranormal investigators of various sexual orientations in an effort to better understand how they identify themselves and what they do. Pretty much your standard, run of the mill set up except for one feature where they allow you to set up your own personal social network as well as belonging to theirs.

Simply Haunted is yet another social network catering to those who believe in the afterlife and/or are actual ghost hunters. It's a compact site that pretty much capsulizes the entire site on the homepage, which is kind of convenient for the person who spends a lot of time hunting down ghosts and doesn't have time to sift through a ton of stuff to find what they're looking for.

Paralore has plenty of the usual social networking features with one additional feature of live podcasts from know hauntings. This is something that a lot of paranormal fanatics might find interesting.

Paranormal Passions combines the paranormal interests of members with an online dating service. So for someone who is tired of being laughed at because they believe in UFO's just might find somebody to appreciate their paranormal beliefs.

I Am Haunted is a nice, neatly set up site that offers all the features you would want in a social network with a cool feature that most others don't have to offer and that's a live BlogTalk radio show where you can actually call in and participate.

As long as there are those who believe strongly in paranormal activity, the desire for more social networking for this particular niche will probably continue to grow the same as other networks have sprung up throughout the Internet.

Boo!  (are you scared yet?).

Happy Halloween!
