Everywhere you turn, it looks as if everyone you know is part a social network. Whether it is yourself, your friends, family or fellow employees, there is no doubt that someone you know is involved in one.
Social Networking has come a long way in a relatively short time and for some it still might be something that they are not really sure that they want to be a part of. But there are some good reasons to join and perhaps after reviewing those reasons, those who have been hesitant might have a change of heart.
Remember when thinking about social networks, a lot more can be done with them these days than ever before, so there is also a lot of fun and creativity that can be found by becoming part of one.
Social networking has changed how a lot of people look at the Internet and how they focus their time while online. Young people especially, who have grown up with the Internet and all the other technology out there, actually take all of it for granted. It’s not surprising then how the youth have taken to social networking with a resounding round of applause.

Every day it seems that technology is leaps and bounds farther a head of it's own self from one day to the next. Sometimes it seems almost impossible to keep up with, especially if you're just the "average joe" from down the block. These days there are so many ways to get in contact with people for communicating and sharing interests to furthering a career. What better place for an artist to be than a social network? Artist are always looking for those who have the "know", who do the same thing, who critique work, buy it, you name it. So how beneficial would a network just for artists and those in the art world be? Quite beneficial, especially when it comes to cost. Being part of a social network as an artist could be quite cost effective.
No matter where you look, social networks and cropping everywhere, in every corner you'll find a social network for most any niche you are involved with.
Using social networking sites is something of a double-edged sword in business. On the one hand, they can be used as effective marketing tools for entrepreneurs as well as networking tools to make and learn from business contacts. On the other hand, they can be used just as easily to hinder or flat-out end a prospective employee’s job search – which can significantly reduce employment opportunities in an already depressed job market during the current economic crisis.
Facebook , Twitter , MySpace , YouTube, you name it and churches are turning to these social media and entertainment technology to help their church audience (both actual and virtual church goers) grow.
Celebrities have found social networking sites to be invaluable tools to connect with the world at large, whether they use them for promoting their latest projects or fostering an “I’m a regular person just like you” vibe.
